Mr. Geithner's Neighborhood

This blog is devoted to the lichen, blood-suckers and porcine elements of Corporate America and finance, but my articles in Portfolio tend to aim considerably higher (it being impossible to aim lower). Thus my story in the May issue on Tim Geithner, online today.

The cover language says it all: Lead Us.Though the hysteria surrounding his early performance has declined, he clearly hasn't demonstrated that he can rise from lifelong bureaucrat to the leader the times demand.

Like everyone else (except for a few Republicans), I'm rooting for the guy. Do I think he'll pull it off, and get the economy moving again? Uh.... check with me in a year.
