Google Grabs ex-Congresswoman

Susan Molinari

Google has picked a former member of Congress to head its Washington lobbying office.

Politico today reported that Susan Molinari, a former U.S. representative from Staten Island, New York, will become Google’s vice president of public policy and government relations for the Americas.

Molinari had been running her own government affairs consulting firm. She also is a former co-anchor of CBS News Saturday Morning.

Google’s high-profile hire gives it a more visible presence in Washington, where the Internet search giant is receiving heightened attention because of its market dominance.
