We'll Always Have Paris

A small Mercedes-Benz electric car with batteries from Tesla Motors Inc. will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show, which starts on October 2.

Daimler AG, the parent of Mercedes-Benz, has worked with Tesla to produce the vehicle, said to have a range of just under 125 miles.

The company plans to manufacture 500 of the cars, but they probably won’t ever be sold in the United States. Rather, the company will lease them to customers in Germany for four years.

Mercedes and Tesla teamed up on battery technology last year. Tesla also makes batteries for electric versions of the tiny Mercedes “smart car.”
