Startup Hunch.com Raises $12 Million

Hunch.com, a website that gives customized recommendations on topics from Bible passages to sexy lingerie, just got a shot of money and expertise.

Khosla Ventures led a $12 million round of financing for the startup, and former Facebook chief financial officer and Khosla Partner Gideon Yu joined Hunch's board, TechCrunch reports. New York-based Hunch, which is less than a year old, was valued at $52 million.

Co-founder Caterina Fake tells TechCrunch that the website has answered almost 50 million questions, and the company can make better recommendations with each new piece of data collected.

Yu isn't the only high-profile board member for the young company. Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales joined the board late last year, TechCrunch reports.
