Alternative Energy to Spare from the Tesla
Wired reports: At $121,000, you’ll probably never own a Tesla Roadster Sport. But you’ll get a chance to drive one.
Videogame designer Kazunori Yamauchi told IGN.com that the souped-up version of Tesla’s Roadster will appear in Gran Turismo 5. The guys at IGN—being gamers, not gearheads—show a picture of the Fisker Karma sedan (D’oh!) in the video interview below, but Yamauchi said “Roadster S.”
“It will appear in the game, and I’m really kind of itching to drive that car,” he said.
Since the Model S sedan isn’t slated for production until 2011, Yamauchi was referring to the Roadster Sport. Tesla Motors spokeswoman Rachel Konrad tells us the car is indeed slated for the game. Until GT5 is released, you can drive a roadster in Project Gotham 4.
We’ve driven the Sport. It’s a blast. Look for a review before long.
