Apple iPod Fires a Shot over Zune's Bow

TechFlash reports: One of the bigger pieces of news out of Apple's media briefing today—apart from the onstage appearance of CEO Steve Jobs—was an adjustment in its lineup of iPod Touch devices. The move could minimize the impact of Microsoft's low-price strategy for its upcoming Zune HD rollout.

Apple dropped the price of the 8GB iPod touch to $199, and said it would offer 32GB and 64GB versions for $299 and $399, respectively—effectively doubling the capacity at both price points.
