Bank of America's Movie Promo Raises a Stink
Bank of America, recipient of $45 billion in taxpayer bail-out cash, is offering discounts to its customers so they can see Monsters vs Aliens in 3-D when the movie opens March 27.
Bloggers and twittering groups have raised a ruckus over the online discount coupons, which allow people with BofA accounts to watch the 3-D version of Monsters without paying the extra $2 or $3 being charged to other moviegoers.
According to Deadline Hollywood, economist Rich Greenfield of Pali Research Greenfield connected the dots behind the deal: DreamWorks Animation's President Lew Coleman formerly served as Vice Chairman and CFO of Bank of America.
