A Tweet Time with Ev Williams
Kevin Maney writes: Had a great time interviewing Twitter CEO Evan Williams at a Churchill Club gathering last night. Pretty funny when he finally admitted that Twitter can be so confounding to figure out, "It's amazing anyone uses Twitter today."
For users, expect Twitter to redesign the site so search is front and center. Right now, it's bizarrely hidden -- so much so that Ev says many users don't know it's there. Also expect Twitter to do more with letting users create groups and filters, so all your tweets don't go to all your followers all the time.
He still isn't saying exactly how Twitter will make money, but says he is confident THAT it will make money. Thanks to the downturn, he's focusing on revenue earlier than he would've otherwise, and thinks Twitter will have real revenue by early 2009.
The interview will be in an upcoming issue of Portfolio mag.
