Kevin Maney writes: Maybe we won't have to all wear fedoras and stand in bread lines after all. Dow up 900. Tech stocks with double-digit gains on the rebound. How about that Microsoft -- up 18.5%!


But just so you don't get too cocky, CNET points out that if you bought tech stocks in 1999 and held onto them until now, you are hosed. Unless those stocks were Apple or Research In Motion -- which, of course, happen to be two stocks nobody in their right mind was buying in 1999.
