Early Results on T-Mobile's Android phone: Eh

Kevin Maney writes: I've been scanning the hands-on reviews of the first phone to use Google's much-hyped Android operating system. It was unveiled yesterday by carrier T-Mobile, made by HTC. And, basically, if you add up all the reviews, the conclusion is that the phone and software are interesting but quite flawed.


Gizmodo had some of the harshest words for the phone, known as the G1. This is probably signaled right off the bat by the photo accompanying the review!

ZDNet wasn't much more positive. (In general, it seems like the geekier the pub, the more complaints the reviewer had.)

And the kingpin of reviewers? Well, Walt Mossberg says the G1 is just OK. "If your world already revolves around Google services, you may find that the G1 fits like a glove. If not, you may be disappointed," he writes.
