Microsoft's New Employees Have Cheating Hearts
Microsoft may be hitting back against Apple with its new "I'm a PC" ads, but the company appears to have a bit of trouble keeping its employees true to the brand.
Bloggers at the Tribble Ad Agency are taking Microsoft's ad agency Crispin Porter & Bogusky to task for using Macs to create the campaign. Apparently, certain images and files were created with Adobe Photoshop CS 3 for Mac.
Meanwhile, Ad Age has found that a few of the celebrities paid to shill for Microsoft have a soft spot for Apple products.
Deepak Chopra has blogged about how ipods can help international diplomacy, Eva Longoria Parker has allegedly been spotted using a Mac laptop in an airport, and Rapper Pharell Williams is the proud owner of a Gold iPhone.
Eric Hollreiser, director of corporate communications at Microsoft, says that the company never asked for brand monogamy:
"We focused only on being inclusive of people who used and had passion for PC. That was and is our only criterion. They represent all walks of life: be it race, nationality, gender, profession, interests, etc."
So while the new stars of the "I'm a PC" ads do love Microsoft computers, they can't help it if their eyes wander occasionally on the peripherals...
