Venture Film
"Venture capital is easy," a wise man once said. "Comedy is hard."
Now, while V.C. types aren't typically thought of as the funny guys at the party (or anywhere, come to think of it) they have as much right to try as the rest of us.
In a strange and pretty successful stab at humor, however, the National Venture Capital Association rolled out a short video poking fun at bankers and other V.C. rivals while highlighting the trials of entrepreneurs desperately seeking cash.
While there are no car chases or "love" scenes (c'mon, these are V.C.s, after all), the film does have villainous bankers, an indifferent, gum-cracking SBA loan officer, a squishy startup support group, and a plucky fledgling C.E.O.--many played by real-life financiers.
And, being V.C.s and all, they just had to post it on YouTube.
