Nerds Talking Browsers
Kevin Maney points: While you're waiting to hear more about Google Chrome, you might find it fascinating to dig into the comments on this Slashdot post about Microsoft's beta of Internet Explorer 8. I learned a lot about the deep issues that have to do with browsers and with developing software and services that work on browsers. One potential issue as Chrome and IE8 hit the marketplace is how "fat" each might be. The beta IE8 seems to suck up your computer's resources. Microsoft has a history of bloatware, and Google has often been good about keeping things sleek. That could be an advantage for Chrome. □
