The Best Reality TV Gets into Web 2.0

Sam Gustin is willing to stand up and say it: C-Span is by far the best network on television, despite what some haters may say.

Who among us doesn't appreciate the spirited debate on every possible issue? The viewer call-in shows? The press conferences, speeches, and panel discussions on the key issues of the day. Oh, and no ads.

I've said it before. I'll say it again. C-Span RULES.

Seriously, you don't have to wait for the next morning's paper to read all about the incompetence, double-speak and hypocrisy that characterizes so much of our government's proceedings. It's there in all its glory, on C-Span.

Call me a dork if you will, (and many have on this issue), but I'm not backing down.

For our country's sake, this is what I call "must see TV." Did I mention there are no ads?

All of which is why its so nice to see the network getting into the Web 2.0 spirit ahead of the presidential conventions.

C-Span has launched two new sites, one for each political party, incorporating blogs, YouTube, Twitter and Qik, the mobile streaming video service.

Beta sites here:

Democratic Party

Republican Party

The only problem is now I'll feel guilty when I'm watching C-Span, when I could be checking out these cool sites.
