Last Bytes: EA/Take-Two, GPhone, "White Spaces," Apple Fire

- Video game maker Electronic Arts has withdrawn its $2 billion offer for Take-Two Interactive, the shop behind the popular "Grand Theft Auto" series. [NYT]

- A Bronx woman named Denise Barker has agreed to settle charges that she stole eight songs using the file-swapping service KaZaa for $756 per song. Hey, that beats $150,000 per song (the Copyright Act's official fine). [Wired]
