Coming Nov. 10: The First "Gphone"
Blaise Zerega says the FCC got this one right. One of the final hurdles faced by Google's Android operating system just fell by the way side. The FCC has approved HTC's "Dream" handset which will be sold by T-Mobile.
Depending on real-world vagaries like shipping, inventory, and marketing, this highly-anticipated gadget could go on-sale as early as November 10, according to Silicon Alley Insider. Meanwhile the NY Times had reported it could go on-sale as early as October.
As we've written before, watch for an all-out price war to erupt in the coming months between Android phones like the new Dream, new LiMo homes, and the grand-daddy of them all, Apple's iPhone.
