First Bytes: GPhone, Yahoo, Cablevision, Netflix

- As expected, here comes the GPhone: Built by mobile giant HTC, running on T-Mobile's network, and powered by Google's Android mobile operating system, the device is informally called "Dream," but for Apple and Research in Motion, it could be a nightmare. [NYT]

- Yahoo made it official: Former Viacom chief Frank Biondi and former Nextel chief John Chapple have joined its board, alongside their patron Carl Icahn who (1) has criticized the way Yahoo is run and, (2) isn't known for his patience. Icahn has his foot in the door. When will he try to kick it open and get paid? [AP]

- Has Harbinger Capital Management rattled Cablevision boss James Dolan? The hedge fund has been quietly building up its stake, which explains "why Jimmy got religion all of a sudden" and met with shareholders this week, according to one analyst. [WSJ]

- Netflix could by $1.8 million to $3.6 million in the hole - per day - over its delivery snafu this week. [ZDNet]

- AOL has acquired Socialthing, a FriendFeed competitor. [Mashable]
