First Bytes: Yahoo, Best Buy/iPhone, Facebook, eBay

- Yahoo is close to naming former Viacom chief Frank Biondi and former Nextel chief John Chapple to its board, joining Carl Icahn, who had put their names up as part of his settlement with the company. [Reuters]
 
- Best Buy Co. will become the first independent retailer to sell the exalted iPhone, joining Apple and AT&T stores. Remember, Best Buy, with great power comes great responsibility. Don't mess this up!  [AP]

- Facebook has lost another key player, this time Platform chief Benjamin Ling - whom the social network lured away from Google only last year - amid more rumblings of old/new culture clashes at the company.  [Venture Beat]

- Now, a Belgian court has thrown out a counterfeiting suit against eBay, this time filed by L'Oreal. [Reuters]

- Yahoo has launched a service called Fire Eagle which will allow people to integrate location data into their web pages. So other people will always know where they are. All the time. [TechCrunch]
