The Big Push: Where's A Flash Mob When You Need One?

Blaise Zerega says only in San Francisco.  Put an old lazy boy recliner on wheels, throw in some instant messaging and you've got one heck of a social experiment. Tyler McNiven, of Amazing Race fame, this morning is hoping to rely not just on the wisdom of the crowd, but on its members' backs and lungs to push him from San Francisco's Mission District to the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Call it The Big Push. He started at 9 am, and hopes to be done by 5 pm -- a new definition of  hard day's work I suppose. See the video after the break.

What's interesting is how Tyler is incorporating technology to enlist people to help him on his journey. Check it all out at Zannel.com, a large-scale instant messaging platform backed with funding from U.S. Venture Partners and Palomar Ventures.
