-- A federal judge ordered Google to hand over to Viacom a record of every video watched on YouTube. Sumner Redstone's media giant has sued for web giant for $1 billion, charging massive copyright infringement and wants the data in order to show that infringing content is more popular on YouTube than user-generated content. Bloggers and digital privacy advocates went ballistic. [Wired.com, EFF]

-- How much do Facebook insiders think the social network's common stock is worth? $15 billion, you say? Try $3.75 billion. Of course, the company's fair market value could be more. [Bits]

-- The recording industry's woes continue. Combined physical and digital album sales fell 11 percent in the first half of 2008. Digital sales continue to grow, but not by enough to offset the loss in physical sales. [Digital Music News]
