Tech Songs, Tech Crowd in SF

Kevin Maney invites: How could anyone resist a night of tech-related songs performed by a bunch of tech-related people for a high-powered tech industry crowd? Well, if you're in the San Francisco Bay Area on July 16, head over to the Rockit Room and you can hear, well -- me! This will be the first public performance and official CD party featuring the band henceforth known as Kevin Maney & His Briefs. We will be playing soon-to-be hits such as "Found It On Google" and "Wouldn't Want to Be (Bill Gates)." Later in the evening, we'll be joined by other musicians from the tech community and keep the classic rock covers going into the night.

The Briefs are an interesting story themselves. We met for the first time at a jam last fall. They are, in fact, The Briefs because two are tech industry lawyers -- Bill Coats, partner at White & Case, on bass; and John Given, chief counsel for studio software company Digidesign, on guitars. The drummer is multiple start-up guy Andy Stack, now nursing Woot.com into existance. We all liked each other, and ended up meeting in April at Digidesign's studios and recording the songs for the CD, titled Privacy. (Look for it soon on CD Baby!)

We'll let you know when the world tour begins...
