The New 'Tech Observer' Team
Starting today, The Tech Observer is expanding to include three other contributors from the Conde Nast Portfolio team. The goal is to give you interesting insights more frequently and on a wider variety of topics than I can possibly manage on my own. So you'll be seeing posts from:
Blaise Zerega: Now deputy editor at Conde Nast Portfolio, Blaise was managing editor of Wired from 2002 until he helped launch Portolio starting in 2006. He was Portfolio's managing editor during its launch phase. Before Wired, he was editor of Red Herring. Blaise knows just about everybody who's anybody in tech. He's based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Russ Mitchell: Russ has been covering technology for almost 30 years, going back to the time when a reporter could call Steve Jobs and he'd readily agree to a meeting. Russ' first computer was a Compaq 8088, which, when informed of the purchase, made Steve Jobs very angry. Before Conde Nast Portfolio, Russ worked at and/or has written for Business Week, US News, Wired, Business 2.0, Fortune, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He also did stints at Red Hat software and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Russ is also in the Bay Area.
Sam Gustin: Sam writes about technology, digital media and public policy for Portfolio.com. His work has also appeared in the New York Post, the Village Voice, and The Times of London. Sam is based in New York.
I'll still be here, blogging away and acting as a kind of host of the Tech Observer party. The idea is to give you more of what we do and turn the blog into a bustling playground for cool ideas and observations. We'll all welcome your comments, because that's of course a critical part of it. Let us know what you think...
