Newspaper Begins Life Only Online

The Capital Times in Madison, Wisc., takes a step today that a lot of people in the newspaper industry will watch carefully: It shut its printing presses on Friday and begins life as an online-only news operation.

Interesting to read the printed newspaper's farewell editorial, and a round-up of the reactions in Madison. The New York Times today published an overview story about the paper's decision.
