Tech Blog War
A war has broken out between two of the most popular tech blogs. On one side is Michael Arrington of TechCrunch, which takes itself quite seriously. On the other: the insouciant Valleywag, which is the tech industry's equivalent of something that might be a cross between the National Enquirer and Hollywood Reporter.
In today's round, Arrington soberly takes Valleywag to task for publishing sordid details of Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales' break-up with his girlfriend -- including IMs between them. TechCrunch's headline: "When will we have our first Valleywag suicide." Arrington says that movie stars are used to tabloid-like treatment, but tech entrepreneurs shouldn't be subjected to it.
From Valleywag, then, comes a post about Arrington's genetic profile on 23andMe, busting him about his love life.
And this has been going on for a while between these two.
