RIM Becoming a Law Firm That Happens To Make Blackberrys
Blackberry maker Research In Motion must be sucking up every lawyer in Canada. Most of the headlines about RIM these days seem to be about lawsuits. Lately, we've got RIM suing Motorola over patents and Motorola punching back by suing RIM.
RIM suffered through its biggest lawsuit blunder with its battle against patent troll NTP. But a quick search finds that RIM sued LG over LG's Blackjack phone (name too similar to Blackberry!) while the Rolling Stones sued RIM because RIM didn't make a Stones-themed phone that the two parties had planned.
Amazingly, RIM continues to make innovative gadgets while messing around with depositions and court dates. But maybe last week's outage came while management was distracted...
