Two Strikes Against Cell Phones, Deserved or Not

As Reuters reports: "The French Health Ministry on Wednesday issued a warning against excessive mobile phone use, especially by children, though it recognized science had not proved cellular technology was dangerous."

Apparently the French government simply finds cell phone use by children to be distasteful. Ya gotta love how they don't care whether there's any actual evidence of harm.

But now, if you're looking for damage, here's another story about how cell phone use by drivers makes traffic worse for everyone. It contains one of the best quotes I've seen in a news story in a long, long time:

"It's a bit like breaking wind in the elevator. Everyone suffers," Peter Martin of the University of Utah's Traffic Lab said in a telephone interview.
