Padmasree Warrior Off to Cisco
Padmasree Warrior is one of the few big-company chief technology officers to rise to executive-celebrity status. She did so at Motorola under CEO Ed Zander, and now she's heading off to Cisco.
I talked to her briefly today. She says she's not leaving because of Zander's impending departure, but because Cisco offered a great opportunity to continue her work in pervasive networks. She also plans to work to spread networking technology to developing markets -- something she pushed at Motorola, and which Cisco already embraces.
