What If Virtual China Becomes -- A Democracy?

GigaOm reports the bizarre news that the Chinese government is developing a virtual world, a la Second Life. No word, apparently, on whether a virtual China will be subjected to totalitarian rule. What would the Chinese government do if democracy took hold there?. □
