Awaiting Google Phone, Breath Bated

Oy, so much schvitzing over whatever Google is going to announce today!

It seems that we are on the verge of a Google-led initiative to create a Linux-based open platform for cell phones. It should cause quite a ruckus for a while -- though it's eventual impact on the industry depends on a whole lot of factors, many of them not in Google's control.

By the way, it's apparently "bated breath," not "baited breath." Although neither of them make much sense.
