Second Life's Rosedale in SF

Just did our live interview with Second Life creator Philip Rosedale at the St. Regis in San Francisco. The video will be shared here on Portfolio.com soon.

Meantime, some quick high points:

Second Life will "soon" launch an internal search mechanism, Rosedale says -- but won't say when. Now, you can't search for much of anything on SL -- can't look for people, events, nothing. That will change.

SL has been working hard on spatial sound, so when you're in a meeting room, you can tell if someone talking is on your right, your left, far away, close, etc.

SL's parent, Linden Lab, is profitable and growing, though it has not hit a tipping point the way, say, Facebook has today.
