Perhaps This Is a Commentary on Nokia

There is often a reason why people from a particular place excel at a particular sport. Skiing, Austria, Alps. Hockey, Canada, cold. That kind of thing.

So this week, Finland hosted the Mobile Phone Throwing World Championships. Now, it doesn't appear that there were really all that many participants. I've seen more kids line up for a moon bounce at a birthday party. And no doubt most of the participants were Finns. Nonetheless, it is also true that Finns took home all the top prizes.

It's also true that most Finns own Nokia cell phones. Do you think that the reason Finns are so good at throwing their mobile phones -- and the reason Finland hosts the phone toss -- has anything to do with a nationwide frustration with Nokia products? Hmm...
