Sputnik: A Helpful Kick in the Pants

An old friend, Ralph Petroff, is a Huntsville, Ala., tech entrepreneur and the son of Peter Petroff -- who worked on the rockets that put Americans on the moon, and who invented the digital watch.

Ralph wrote a piece for the Huntsville Times about his perspective on the launch of Russia's Sputnik satellite -- 50 years ago in October...
