The Google News Experiment

Google is launching an experiment that mainstream media should closely watch: It's allowing people to comment on stories in Google News -- but only people who are involved in the story.

One subtlety Google might be missing: How will Google decide who is involved in a story? Let's say you work as an engineer at a tech start-up, and you helped create a product that gets coverage, but you aren't quoted in the story. Will Google allow you to comment on the story? Google doesn't say. This could be more of a tangle than Google thinks it will be.
