Luxury Laptops
Asus Lamborghini VX1: Can't afford to spring for a Lamborghini? The new ASUS VX1 might just fill your sports car void. The auto-esque features include a special mirror paint finish, a slanted lid designed to resemble a sports car hood, and the trademark raging-bull logo on its brushed aluminum shell. To say the laptop's designers were inspired by the luxury car line is an understatement - even the LED display design is a replication of the Murcielago Barchetta's air diffuser mesh. At around $3,000, the VX1 is pricy - but hey: compare it with the price of an actual Gallardo Spyder, and you're saving a hundred thou or two.

Tulip Ego: Are you feeling posh today? Upbeat? Or mellow? The Tulip Ego laptop can help you express your mood. The Ego's over a dozen skins come in animal prints, calming pastels, or even a sophisticated antique wood finish. If you're still not satisfied, order a custom skin of your own design - or, splurge on the outrageously opulent diamond-encrusted version. Barney's (naturally) is the exclusive U.S. carrier of Tulip Egos for now, but the company expects more wide spread distribution come December.

By Luvaglio, The Mysterious Million Dollar Lap Top: What does a million dollar laptop look like? We don't know because the makers are keeping mum to boost its exclusivity. "We're not interested in 'mass production' or designing 'entry level products,'" says the Luvaglio (namesake company of entrepreneur Rohan Sinclair Luvaglio) website. "We leave that to others." Apparently, the company is not interested in divulging very many details either - the somewhat snooty website is "invitation only" - but rumor has it that a million dollar laptop is in the works. Supposedly, it'll have a self-cleaning monitor with anti-reflective coating, a Blu-ray drive, and - get this - a diamond encrusted power button.
Asus Ecobook: Want to reduce your biological footprint without sacrificing style or a speedy wireless connection? Asus's 100% green Ecobook, due to launch next year, is completely lead- and halogen-free. The Bluetooth transmission saves power (and provides long-lasting battery supply) and all parts are easily upgradeable and lined with eco-friendly cardboard. Since there are no harmful paints or sprays to be found, the company says, and the only environmental danger to beware of is a potential attack by a pack of hungry Pandas. The laptop's exterior is completely covered in bamboo.

Lenovo ThinkPad Reserve Edition: On first glance, the ThinkPad Reserve Edition laptop doesn't seem to offer anything out of the ordinary other than its high grade Italian leather exterior. But, the real value of this notebook lies in its Executive Support Staff, who will gladly cater to your every need. On site service will be provided within four hours in almost every metropolitan area around the world. On vacation in the Maldives? The specially trained support team will answer your calls 24 hours a day, no matter where in the world you're calling from.
