With Any Luck, Murdoch Will Launch a Bidding War for Business Journalists
In all of the coverage of Rupert Murdoch's potential takeover of The Wall Street Journal, I've been looking for the answer to that all-important question: What does it mean to ME? Yes, me, as in this blogger.
Well, now I know. As excerpted on the Romenesko blog, Murdoch told Time: "What if, at the Journal, we spent $100 million a year hiring all the best business journalists in the world? Say 200 of them..."
Which, if I read this correctly, means he'll be paying those 200 journalists $500,000 each. If a rising tide lifts all boats...then, go Rupert!
