Texting While Driving: A 21st Century Skill
Yeah, like you don't do it too.
It seems that legislators and activists are getting publicity for their outrage over the practice of getting and sending text messages and e-mails while driving. And of course the politically-correct stance is that it's wrong wrong wrong to give driving anything but your fullest attention.
But, well, the chances of stopping this practice are about zero. As traffic gets worse, and more time is spent crawling along in cars, and mobile messaging becomes an integral part of life -- more people are going to text and drive.
Maybe it's not so bad. Americans sent 158 billion text messages in 2006. Just a guess, but a few billion of those must've been sent while driving. And -- what? -- a dozen maybe caused actual accidents?
So how do you text and drive as safely as possible?
