Lala...or Uh-oh?

Bill Nguyen, founder and CEO of music CD trading site Lala.com, is one of the more fascinating and frustrating entrepreneurs I've had the pleasure to cover. I've interviewed him several times. He has more energy than an electric chair, the brain capacity of a Nobel laureate, and the attention span of a chihuahua on amphetamines.

He is agile rather than thoughtful. Lala started out as a site for trading used CDs. Nguyen added social networking as that became popular. He saw an opportunity to do something interesting by melding Lala with Internet radio, so he bought WOXY.com. And now, Lala is starting to stream free music and sell downloads.

I don't have any idea what his grand strategy is for Lala, and I really don't think he does either. But maybe that's OK. It's at least fun.
