The Dirty Secret of Totalitarian Web Filtering: the U.S. Helps

The AP reports that a new study from OpenNet Initiative found increasing Web censorship around the world. Countries such as Vietnam, Yemen and Saudi Arabia filter Web content for users inside their borders.

If that sticks in your craw, you might also want to know that in many cases U.S. tech companies such as Websense and Blue Coat Systems supply the technology that makes such censorship possible.
