Or, Hey, Stationary Bike Riding in Second Life!

By way of Futurismic, I ran across an invention called the Stringwalker, out of a lab at the University of Tsukuba in Japan. It begins with the insight that people might want to get exercise by actually, physically walking around a virtual world like Second Life -- as opposed to moving around by clicking a mouse.

Which leads to all kinds of other thoughts about simple ways to exercise in Second Life. Seems like it would be easy for a hacker to hook up a stationary bike to a laptop so users could bicycle around SL. Or how about a rowing machine? I don't know -- are there any places you could row in Second Life?

Anyone have other ideas?
