More on 'Money Never Sleeps' and Gordon Gekko 2.0

For those wondering if greed is still good, it is. At least in the world of Gordon Gekko. Hence the title to the upcoming Wall Street sequel Money Never Sleeps (Suspenders and hair gel? Now that's another story...). Details of the Fox film, which is still in the scripting stage, are starting to trickle out, such as locations for the movie. "Wall Street was New York centric," said producer Ed Pressman to The West. "The new film will be based in New York, in London, in the United Arab Emirates and in an Asian country. We've pretty well worked out the inter-personal relationship between the characters. We're now talking about business events." Screenwriter Stephen Schiff and Pressman have also been talking to billionaires, including Vincent Tchenguiz, to update the Gekko character (loosely modeled after junk bond king Michael Milken in the first film), which will once again be played by Michael Douglas. "Gekko is larger than life," Pressman said. "His appetites are large. The audience enjoys a vicarious pleasure in seeing a world they would never be part of. In a funny way Wall Street was like The Godfather--in that the real mob began dressing and behaving like characters in the movie. After Wall Street people started wearing suspenders like Michael."
