Why Is Halloween Coming in Late August?
I actually appreciate Rob Zombie's movies much more than his music and am curious to see how he updates the original Halloween. But here's my question: Why is this movie coming out in late August? It's called Halloween. Shouldn't that tell you something? The original with Jamie Lee Curtis was released on October 25th back in 1978. Now that makes sense. So let's just check the calendar. Why not release it on Oct. 26th this year? Oh. Yeah. That's when Saw IV comes out. Fine. Why not the week before? Okay. Sure. That's when 30 Days of Night hits theaters. I'm starting to see MGM/Weinstein's point. And this is one weak weekend. Halloween could easily be the number one movie. In August.
