How to Continue to Lose Friends and Alienate People
The quotes from Vanity Fair editor Grayden Carter and author Toby Young in today's New York Post about the movie version of Young's How to Lose Friends and Alienate People reminds me of a game we used to play when I was a young, dumb kid growing up in Northern California. We'd take long sticks and put dog poop on the ends of them and then sword fight. We called it "Poop Stick." Jeff Bridges is playing the character modeled after Carter, and Young goes on to point out that a wig-wearing Bridges "is not wearing a fat suit." Gotcha! Young continues: "I would think Graydon would be flattered to be played by Jeff. He's a big sex symbol." The Young character is being played by Hot Fuzz Star Simon Pegg, to which Carter comments: "I much prefer Jeff Bridges playing me over Simon Pegg." Touche? Not really. But maybe he got a little poop on him.
