Beckham Backlash: The Photos

David Beckham may have the fifth most popular sperm in China, but that doesn't mean jack here in the good ole U.S of A. Rumblings of a Beckham backlash could be felt even before his Los Angeles Galaxy debut against Chelsea, and now the UK's Evening Standard has picked up the trend and put together an online photo essay of disgruntled fans. Beckham still has yet to play beyond those few scant minutes against Chelsea and wasn't even on the bench in the recent match against Dallas (in all fairness, spokesman Patrick Donnelly had already confirmed that the injured star would "not be travelling to Dallas"). Beckham is apparently still nursing an ankle he injured in June. Like I said before, Becks, it's time to tape up and play through the pain. The MLS and those sponsors are expecting something for the $250 million they're paying you. And I don't think a bunch of pissed off fans are what they had in mind.
