R. Kelly's 'Trapped In the Closet' Goes All Indie

I have no idea how I missed this important piece of news yesterday, but thanks to Matt Dentler for pointing it out. The Independent Film Channel is making ten new episodes of singer R. Kelly's narrative-driven, rhyme-challenged, cliff-hanger-serial-hip-hopera Trapped In the Closet--what has been lovingly called the Plan 9 of music videos. Kelly says the deal makes sense because he "always thought of Trapped as an independent film." Right on R Kelly. See you at Sundance!
