Is ABC Taking the Club to "Cavemen"?

Why am I not surprised that ABC's adapted-from-a-Geico-commercial Cavemen is undergoing some "retooling," as the Hollywood Reporter so gently puts it. As I wrote last May, this show, about cavemen who do their best to fit into modern society, doesn't look long for life, as the whole commerical-to-TV show paradigm never seems to work out well. The network has recast one of the leads (Sam Huntington, who played Jimmy Olsen in Superman Returns, is replacing actor Dash Mihok as the little brother Caveman) and is basically shooting a new pilot:

The ABC Studios-produced "Cavemen" will not launch with the pilot but with another yet-to-be-filmed first episode, which is said to be delving more into the cavemen's backstories.

The original pilot (with Jamie's scenes reshot) is expected to air later in the season.
