Controversy, Oscar and Angelina Jolie
As Variety points out this morning, controversy seems to follow Paramount Vantage's A Mighty Heart everywhere (even Thursday night's screening at Paramount for Muslim, Christian and Jewish organizations, designed to promote religious tolerance, had its challenges, with an upset Jewish activist likening some participants involvement to "David Duke co-sponsoring Schindler's List." But the movie, about the tragic kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, and directed by Michael Winterbottom, is already generating early Oscar buzz for Angelina Jolie, who plays Pearl's wife Mariane.
