The Folly of Angelina Jolie's "Mighty Heart" Press Pact

Angelina Jolie and her attorney should have known better than to ask journalists to sign an agreement--limiting the scope of their questions and the use of her responses--before interviewing her at the Wednesday night premiere for her new film A Mighty Heart (she plays Mariane Pearl, the wife of Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal correspondent who was murdered by Islamic extremists). Moreover, they should have known better than to ask during a screening that was in itself an event on behalf of persecuted journalists-- the non-profit Reporters Without Borders. Jolie's camp later backed off the request, but if want to check out the contract, here it is on Smoking Gun.
