Confessions of a Husky Blogger
Dear Hollywood Deal Reader:
I just wanted to take a brief moment to thank all the people who have called to express their condolences about my unfortunate illustration for this blog. My favorite line so far comes from my old Berkeley buddy Brad King who said: "Hey, I didn't know you looked like Jim Rome's fatter, older brother." I don't. At least, I didn't think I did until I saw the artist's rendering of me on this site. Since our launch, my wife has taken to calling me "The Husky Blogger." I get a lot of "Hey, Husky Blogger, don't forget to take out the trash..." or "Yoo hoo, Husky Blogger, can I get some fries with that double-chin shake?" In an attempt to save myself from further humiliation, I called the swell folks in charge of Portfolio.com and asked if we could, you know, maybe do something about the drawing? Even the hand over the receiver couldn't contain their sniggerings (Yes, I get it, the Hollywood Deal guy wants some pen-and-ink liposuction. What a diva. Ha ha ha).
So I'm asking you, the public at large, to make the call. I recently had my picture snapped after a night out with some friends and I've taken the liberty of posting it below. Now be honest. Do I look anything like my illustration?
I rest my case.
Sincerely,
The Husky Blogger
