A pair of retailers that cater to the teenage crowd received a shot in the arm thanks to back-to-school shopping.
Limited Brands Inc. on Thursday reported a 10 percent increase in sales for August at its stores open at least a year and an 11 percent rise in total sales to $630.3 million from $561.4 million in August 2009.
For Abercrombie & Fitch Co., there was a 6 percent increase in same-store sales for the month and a 14 percent gain in total sales to $353.7 million from $309.5 million in August 2009.
