LeBron James Marketing Magic
South Florida is reeling at the prospect of the huge economic impact of having some of the NBA's biggest stars on the Miami Heat.
With Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh agreeing to sign with the Heat and rumors on ESPN saying LeBron James is leaning toward joining them, the Heat should be able to generate the same type of glamour as the Los Angeles Lakers, said Steve Nudelberg, who has the title of principal thinker at On the Ball Marketing in Plantation, Florida.
The potential benefits to the South Florida economy would be huge since home games would be high-profile, national sporting events that would draw even more of the South Beach type of glitterati to the American Airlines Arena, reported the South Florida Business Journal.
"The increased national interest in our basketball team would be another priceless media gift," Barry Johnson, CEO of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, said Wednesday. "It turns up the spotlight on Miami as a center for action, excitement and first-class entertainment. And it keeps our brand as one of the country’s best and most favored locations."
More details on the Miami Heat's increasing economic impact in South Florida are available from the South Florida Business Journal.
